I’m a PhD candidate enrolled in the Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering program and my research is developed in collaboration with the PhD program in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology. I study the environmental impact of brand-new and existing overused technologies, focusing on the pollution of aquatic environments. The goal of my thesis is to develop a groundwater physical-based model that can predict emerging contaminants patterns within the Po River basin located northern Italy under current and climate change scenarios. I am also involved in side projects associated with: stochastic inverse modeling of multiphase flow in porous media, understanding pesticide patterns to capture pollutants and recover their chemical components (RECYCLE), and evaluating urban drainage system capacities considering extreme rainfall events.
