Daniele Fistolera
PhD candidate
I am a physicist currently working as a PhD candidate at DICA on the HYPOR project, which is focused on the development of a mechanistic upscaled description of the reactive transport of substances in hydrological systems, with the purpose of providing enhanced predictions to manage the health of fluvial ecosystems. My main objectives during the PhD are to investigate the impact of heterogeneities in the hydraulic and biogeochemical properties of the hyporheic zone and to assess the effect of temporal fluctuations in the fluvial regime on solute transport, mixing and reaction dynamics through the lens of suitable numerical simulations.
Expertise in:
-
Numerical modeling of hydrological systems
-
Flow and transport in porous media
